About Me && my Burnsides
Hello folks, I am Ambrose Everett Burnside. I was born in Liberty, Indiana but a matter of fact I would have rather been born in Scotland like my grandfather. The specific date that i was conceived on was May 23, 1824, according to my mother that was the hottest day in Indiana.
I attended at Liberty seminary for my childhood until my mother passed away and I cut off my education to join the business and i ended up at the United States Military Academy. After my completion date i set off to Veracruz to serve in the Mexican-American War, man was that an experience.
Now let me tell you about the year i met my wife. In 1852, I was sent to New Port, Rhode island (i ended up there by a darn Apache up in Mexico that shot me in my neck, with an arrow..can you believe it!) ugh well anyways while i was stationed in Rhode Island I happened to bump into the most beautiful women I have ever seen. When I layed my eyes on her it was like an arrow was shot in my butt by cupid; love at first sight. That women must have fallen in love with my Burnsides 'Cause she could not get her eyes off me either! Finally I got through all the stuttering and huff and puffing i found out her name; it was Mary Richmond. Ohh what a beautiful name for a beautiful lady. Not very long after we tied the knot on April 27 and she was all mine. That was a year to never forget.
A year later, after my recent marriage I hopped right back into serving the United States Army. Through out my whole life I have been in 18 battles/wars. Oh lord that makes me feel so old! But while i jumped back into serving i attempted of making a rifle that i called 'Burnside carbine'. Oh did that gun have a short amount of fame. I went out to be a Democrat for the congressional seat but lost, couldn't bare it so i moved out to Illinois and found a job as a treasurer of the Illinois central Railroad and that is also where i met my good buddy McClellan. A few years passed and i went running back to my passion and served in the war yet again. I have served in the army since 1847 to 1865. I have only commanded the Army of the Potomac and the American Civil War. I was happily ranked as a major general and boy was I happy.
I joined the politics in may 29, 1866, I was the 30th Governor of Rhode Island and i got out around May 25, 1869. i joined the office again as a United states senator from Rhode island on March 4th, 1875 - and still currently in office.
Now folks i must be going, I have a doctors appointment to see whats been going on with my heart !! wish me luck and have and amazing day! (:
